Tips for Doing Sublimation on Shoes

Can you put sublimation on canvas shoes?

Yes, you can with the right tools like fabric sheets, Cricut, and fabric glue. It is super easy with our cute Avocado Sublimation file.

What settings do you use with the Cricut?

Upload the SVG file into Cricut Design and make sure to use print-then-cut design and then select “complex” and “upload.” Also, make sure you resize the file to fit your shoe. After printing out the design on the fabric sheet, put it on the mat, but you will need to set the material knob to Fabric.

How much fabric glue do you need to put on?

You might think a lot, but no- put a thin layer on the back of the avocado design with a paintbrush but make sure to get the glue all over the design. After placing glue side down on the shoe, smooth out the design to get the bubbles out.

How do I protect the avocado design?

After the shoe has dried for 2-4 hours, then coat the shoes in Scotchguard. Let the shoes cure another 4-6 hours before wearing. More detailed instructions are below.
