Paper Roll Firecracker Cricut Craft

Making these paper roll firecrackers with my Cricut was so simple, I had to share them with you today! I really enjoy creating crafts that are made from recycled items, because I hate to see anything go to waste. 🙂

Patriotic Decor

Using paper rolls and supplies you have around the house, you can make this recycled craft and turn it into 4th of July holiday decor in no time flat. We are making all things red, white, and blue this year!

Supplies Needed:

I used my Cricut Explore Air 2 for this craft, but any cutting machine will do. If you’re letting the kiddos help with this one, be sure to use care while using the hot glue gun and while cutting the floral wire. Otherwise, they’ll enjoy helping with the paint especially! 🙂

Tips for Creating These Firecrackers with Your Cricut

To line the stripes up on the paper roll, you can use painters tape. If you use tape that has too strong of a grip, it can remove some of the cardboard, but I found that using regular painter’s tape was fine. You can always add another layer or two of paint to make it smooth if any of the cardboard does get removed.

Don’t worry if your stars and stripes aren’t perfect! Most decor isn’t scrutinized up close, anyway, right? If you make a mistake, start over with another paper roll. Luckily, we have tons of those around here!

Crafting with Kids

If you’re making this craft with kids, give them a few rolls and let them go to town! Chances are, they won’t turn out anything like the pictures, but that’s the best part of creating memories. The fun comes from having fun and spending time together, not from making everything perfect.
